G'day All,

Just a heads up for those who are unaware, SP1 is now available to download see announcement at NV3. Be aware that this is a huge download at 1.8 gb, with a further download of any purchased payware:- Murchison, Blue Comet etc.

Missing thumbnails are now marked with an error rather than a warning. A number of assets from this site are now showing errors because of this. Mainly Aarons stuff, but also the No2 crane and Y112 loco and tender.

Took me over 4 hours to update everything in my install.

Cheers

Haven't updated my install yet as there appears to be a number of other bugs that haven't yet been resolved, though they have been acknowledged and are said to be in a hotfix within a week.

Then again I never upgrade to newer versions of stuff for some time as usually it takes a month or so for the update to be frustration-limited.

Yeah, made the mistake of not deleting the folder of my dem in the editing folder of trainz. After updating there were quite a number of assets that were open for edit. Selected them all without checking and lost all the work I'd done on my route, went back to the original map. :(
Just another trap to be aware of I suppose.

Have managed to repair about half the content that was faulty so far. Just a little tedious to do it. The one that has me on the verge of throwing my mouse out is this new warning of a texture file that is of a uniform colour. Only a warning so not really a biggie I suppose, but damn if there isn't hundreds of them, 1508 to be exact. lol

Hi Hedleigh,

You wrote

That'll pretty much flag about 99% of my stuff with an error now as I don't use Thumbnails until I upload to the DLS or have a Beta ready for DLS upload :(

Hopefully everything on DLS so far has no problems.

I'm running 44088 for the time being so these new errors won't pop up for me :(

Cheers.

I started the download until I read "on" (comments) so I am going to wait and let TS 12 doe's the whole thing itself.

Hi Dan
I would personally recommend the manual patch over the auto-patch. If you use the manual patch, and the patch does happen to fail, you won't need to download it again... ;)

Plus, the hotfix should only take a short time (first 3 for TS12 were something like 10-15min install times) to install on top of a SP1 install :)

You shouldn't see an issue with the max-coupler-gap tag with VR stuff, as none of ours has it set to 0 /except/ possibly Billegulla's steamers.

Personally, I made a copy of my TS12 folder, then installed TS12 SP1 into this. That way I can go back to pre SP1 if I need to :)

Regards
Zec

G'day Aaron,

I wasn't having a go mate, just an observation. I have made a generic thumbnail and as I get around to it, I edit and add it. Fixes the problem.

Hi Hedleigh,

I know what you mean, I was just saying that N3V have broken 99% of the unreleased content.

Hey all,

Maybe Victrainz will need a SP1 error listing thread for both released and unreleased content.

Cheers.

G'day Aaron™,

...an elegant solution, Sire but would it not have been easier for ALL our creators (and those everywhere else around the world so affected) to have gotten into the habit of providing thumbnails in ALL their assets (betas or otherwise). As far as I know, NONE of my stuff is affected...

...mind you, if any are found, I am more than willing to fix them...

Hi Garry,

As I haven't yet gotten a recovery done on the games drive I am unable to use TS12, however I'm pretty sure every single config.txt has this in it
Code:
thumbnails
{
  0
  {
    image                               "screenshot.jpg"
    height                              180
    width                               240
  }
}

but no actual image, I think the error Hedleigh is seeing is the fact CMP has found the thumbnails tag, but can't find the actual image, there's also talk on N3V forums of other error checking such as Shadows and the need for LOD's on assets above 500+ polys, no idea if it's in SP1.

Cheers.
