G'day All,

I have been requested by the committee of management of the Hobson's Bay Model Railway Club to provide a post here to advise one and all that contrary to the popular rumour that is currently 'going about' that this year's (2010) annual Easter exhibition WILL be going ahead as planned and has NOT been cancelled (as indicated in the aforementioned rumours). As usual, it is to take place in the Collingwood Secondary College at the usual times over the Easter weekend - see the club's website for appropriate details...

http://www.hbmrc.net

...thank you.

(Rod,

They have asked me to request that you post something similar to this on Railpage and any other 'forums' you think it might be appropriate - if you would be so kind)...

Jerker {:)}

G'day Steve,

Yes, Easter! It has been held over the Easter weekend for more than 10 years now (I thought it was ALWAYS marked in EVERY Victorian modellers diary and even scratched into a few fridges)!! It is almost an Easter "institution"!!

...by the way, for future reference, the word "DAMB" is spelt with an 'N' and not a 'B'...

...and you don't "...have..."... to go camping (it's not like your continued life depends upon that activity)...

...DAMN...

No Jerker,
it's something of a tradition. We go down there with dad's boss' family, it rains, we come back home and the weather clears

Looking forward to it!

I've found the Hobsons Bay show to always have a nice (and different) selection of layouts every year which is good to see.

Jerker, is there a list available somewhere of who will be attending/exhibiting as far as layouts, traders and importers/manufacturers go?

G'day H222,

Well, that's two 'attendees' that I didn't know about (though I would have expected PSM to be there). Unfortunately, the "powers that be" (for this year, at least) are keeping things 'close to their chest' and no-one outside of the committee is being told anything - not even the 'local arrangements' for the movement of stuff from the clubrooms to the exhibition. As far as I know, the usual 'call for help' for this 'movement' has not been 'sent' to the general membership, even at this 'late date' (where previous 'organisers' were extremely "open" and "forthcoming" with such arrangements)!! I am at a loss...

Yeah Jerka!
Despite my sarcastic comments about the modelling competition, nobody outside the
"select" few knows if the Competition is back on this year either. I asked but was told they would get back to me
Cheers
