Hey all,

a few more, also I've been watering the backyard from last week and the rain this week has made much of the grass grow back, I'm also detailing the underframes of the NSW Sputniks, I'm going to be building enclosed boxes to represent switch groups, resisters and have the micro R/C equipment in them so I can detail the interior and have lights.

A subway would be cool, but the end there is where it'll curve off to a 7ft radius, taken me a few days to dig under the tree, I'm almost there! if I keep digging for the next couple of days I'll have the whole oval done, then I'll need to finish the track bed then get the rest of the track.

My new years resolution is to get a Ruby #1

Hey all,

Digging is now complete (started it November) and just need to finish the track bed then Dad will mow it down, I'm also converting stock to Kadees, fitted a basic R/C ESC to the 4-4-0, still need to buy the switch, charging jack and batteries to finish the conversion.

it's very exciting to get a backyard railway setup, I won't be getting much locomotives or stock, for the 1:20.3 I want it to be a basic 1880-1890's train so a few passcars and wagons, for the 1:29 (USA Trains/Aristo Craft/Bachmann) I won't get much as it's out of scale, for the NSW stuff and SAR/VR (SG) stuff I'd need to scratch build those as their are no kits for Aussie stuff :( .

Cheers.

I bought some Gauge 1 Kadee's about 4 weeks ago from the US, with that in mind I've spent the past week taking bogies off the stock and cutting the coupler mounts from the Bogies and adding styrene to the frames, I checked the tracking on the mail order yesterday as it's been weeks now.... turns out it's still in the US and my brother tells me USPS has a strike.

anyways, here's the conversion, the aim is to get the center line of the couplers between 24mm to 28mm above rail height depending on scale, now I need couplers!

Got the kadees in the mail today, took about 4 weeks, here's a test video as I don't have the couplers all to the same height as I set them to scale height, like 10mm to the foot and 15mm to the foot.

Hey all,

Yesterday I went to Airport West to finish off the section, 6 months all up to do it :)
The track didn't quite turn out as I was hoping as the section under the tree became a bit tight "between 5-6 ft radius", they should run without problems though.

I'll put a video up soon.
