Hey all,

Look what I got off ebay.

Image

I also got this early last month and got it in the mail on Thursday last Week.

Image

It's 1:24 Scale so it's not really accurate, the guy selling it didn't list what scale... I thought it was 1:20.3, 1:24 Scale = 3ft 6in Gauge while 1:20.3 = 3ft 0in Gauge.

Cheers.

Hey all,

I put RC equipment into the Bachmann 1:24 Loco so I don't have to keep polishing the rails for each bug run over and can let the rails rust! >_>

https://www.flickr.com/photos/77952175@N07/?details=1

Here's the photos showing the conversion, Aristo-Craft have proper RC equipment for this stuff, getting a hold of it is the hard part.

Cheers.

Hey all,

My newest acquisition.

Image

Got it real cheap of Ebay, it's also a Discontinued Model by Bachmann,

http://shop.bachmanntrains.com/index.ph ... ts_id=5316

Only features mine doesn't have is

• polarity selector switch for operation according to NMRA standards or large scale model railroading practice
• numerous separate detail parts (Because it's Second Hand)

I got it about the Price of a HO Scale Loco... say Auscision Models, this loco is much heavier than the other one as it's also got a steel frame and it's badly damaged the hollow rail track... don't really care as I'll be using high quality track (Accucraft) and get either 4'6" radius or 5'6" radius, The Bachmann H.Q locos run best on 4'0" radius as minimal for best performance, I have it running on 2'1.5" Radius but it leans to the side and the lead truck goes on 2 wheels, lol

I won't be buying anything at CMRC Exhibition in Jan, I'll probably only by tools and books, anyways I'll post again when I start digging up the backyard for the track bed...

Cheers.

Hey all,

Here's a short video with the cam on the coal, you'll notice it rocking and moving even though the ground is almost level, it has a slight uphill an down hill on the straights, near the end of the video the table shirt fronts the camera side screen, then you here me curse while exhaling.

Cheers.

Hey all,

Finally got this setup on Monday afternoon, it's been stored in a friends garage since 2005, started building it in 2001, after 2005 no work had been done on it.

Hey all,

Large scale is pretty much the same as real life, costs time to dig, costs money to build a track bed, costs money to lay the track, the crushed stones where $45 just for that much, only about 3-4in deep about 5-6in wide.

all up it's going to be 14ft wide, dunno on length probably 20ft or 22ft, curve radius will be 7ft wide which is recommended while the minimal radius is 4ft and only half the available stuff will run it, something like a USA Trains Big Boy needs 8ft radius minimal but I won't be getting one of those, lol

Hey all,

Haven't posted updates in a while, There's a place in Lara that sells stones really cheap, so I changed from the ones in Bunnings that's where 8kg for $13 to the ones in Lara which is about 20-25kg for $10.
