Hi all,

As those who have seen my models trains post would know, I recently picked up a (cheap) Union Pacific Dash 8-40CW off the 'bay, and it arrived not long ago! Faced with the issue of having an American locomotive standing between the Aussie stuff, I decided I would take on the daunting task of a repaint. After picking two decent colours, a shiney blue and a deep yellow, I got started with the task.

For anyone looking to how to repaint a loco, i'm not an expert but model specific paint and a bit of nail polish remover (to remove decals and other paint) worked for me. Just use a tissue or cotton tip to wipe off any excess or misplaced paint!

At the moment, I'm currently up to painting the entire base blue, with the exception of the front, which will stay yellow, and the handrails will be yellow too. Will post up some pictures when i'm done!

As much as I appreciate your modelling Gippsrail, I recommend an airbrush, it brings the best out of models when they have just had a fresh paint job...
