VR Steam, 1930s style!

L-R they are X29, K103, and S301 :)

First time I've been able to do a lineup of the three. Hopefully my 1930s/40s A2 turns back up soon, so I can add it too the mix as well :)

Excellent lineup there zec. If I were you I'd be tempted to leave them unpainted like that as they look great as is.

Well, tonight I picked up something a little different :) An Austrains C501, with staff exchanger :)

Has a bit of a 'to-do' list, but I was somewhat after a 'project' loco anyway, so this definitely fits the bill :)

*Fit DCC/sound
*Replace handrails
*Fit LED's (inc marker lamps)
*Work out what other lights I can fit
*Fit new brake hoses
*Fit tail disc(?)
*Maybe detail the chassis a little
*Fit missing steps on front bogie
*Fit a cab of some sort (with crew)

May also do some other work, not sure at this stage...

Regards

Hi All
I'm currently looking for Heritage Models signal kits. If anyone has some they would like to part with, or knows of anyone with some, please let me know.

Also after another SEM S class kit if anybody is interested in selling one, or knows of someone who might wish to sell one :) I wish to build a slightly more 'usable' S class with the modified front valances :) Thoroughly enjoyed building the last one, and would like to try a few ideas on the next one... :)

Thanks
Zec

Currently I am trying to talk Tony K into doing a new set of signals The Heritage fret has a few problems and a newer layout would be great to have. I believe a drawing has been made but a half A4 sheet would end up costing $140 if I could sell 100 sheets Not sure if it is worth while going ahead. We will have to wait and see what happens. Do you know Graham Frazer at all> He is a VMRS modeller and part of the original Broad Gauge Modellers team (Brass) He actually owns the rights to Heritage and could probably be talked into running a few more off?
Cheers
Rod

Back on the workbench tonight is my AEC railmotor. Nice to have the RM finished. Next step, build the trailer... Although that may actually be a while off :)

Plan is to paint it in straight red (crimson lake, I'm guessing?), if I can sort out decals for it.

Regards
Zec

Excellent looking model Zec. I'd be tempted to leave it looking like that even though it's not prototypical xD

Makes a nice contrast I should think with your steamer fleet

Currently building my SEM J class :)

I'm going to sit down and sort out my rolling stock, and work out which will be built for '1950s' and which will be 'pre 40s'. There will be some 'mix and match' of course, but I would like a 'matched' freight consist :)
