Was a lot of fun, although I found the layouts a bit boring this year (no offense, just found it a little 'same old, same old'). Still, HBMRC did a great job :)

Picked up a few things... lol

2 SEM GY's, and lots of SEM buffers (woot - just need screwlinks now!)

Also some Outback Models items (including the station building), a few books (got the suburban electric brief history book!), and a few other small kits. Also got a McKenzie in H.O.L Land ground frame for Devon (1 locking lever and 2 point levers). Will be fun wiring this in... Once I get some wire...

Now to sit back, and relax for tonight... :)

Zec

Hehe! Yep, that was me for half of the day, sold over 150 tickets, hopefully more tomorrow (yes I'll be back again tomorrow). And how did you work out who my Dad was Jamie? :P

Hey all,

Here is the album for the pictures I took.

http://s134.photobucket.com/albums/q97/ ... on%202011/

I couldn't make up my mind if I should get a Austrains S1 X or Auscision B Class, for a seconds I was thinking WCR B class, then thought.... I'll get VR, then I said to Jamie, Is that 795 or 295? lol'ed. My eyes where a little blurry, lol. I really wanted a Austrains Series 3 or Series 4 T class but they are sold out.

The Model is superb for it's price though, I want another one, the only thing I need to try and work out now is fitting a DCC system and sound, how does this place work http://www.dccsound.com/soundcentre.htm do I send the loco there and they install the dcc chip or do I have to buy the dcc chip and send it to them? I'd rather a professional to install it though, looks more complicated then a Athearn Loco.

Those are some nice photos you took there Aaron, it looked like it wasn't such a bad show. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend at all on the weekend due to other commitments (family and Greek Easter).

I'd have to agree with Zec for the most part though - the majority of the layouts on display seemed to be mediocre at best (either poorly presented or the modelling eras were all over the joint..). But 'Korumburra', 'Victoria Bridge' and 'Leafy Bay' certaintly seemed to be the standouts throughout the weekend.

Out of curiosity, what camera did you use to take the photos, I noticed you used the flash in alot of them? Not that there's anything wrong with that ofcourse, but if I may offer a quick tip - go easy on the flash next time and use the hall or natural lighting instead (depending on how good either of them are). You'd be suprised with yourself as to how good your photos can turn out without the use of flash :).

Hi V544,

I can cycle flash on/off, most of the photo's I did was flash off, only a few needed flash as it was in dark spots and lots of shadows, I had a hard time getting the Massey Ferguson Tractor as it was driving around in warp speeds (well very fast) all blurry ones was when they where moving fast though or if I had zoom on :(
