Thanks Tom. I knew it looked very familiar since I've been looking at kitbashing one or two of these in HO-scale.

Have you given any thought to doing the VFTX variant that carried pipes (I have yet to see a photo of one such loaded wagon myself)?

I believe we used to pick these pipes up at Somerton from the steel works towards Craigeburn RHS.
The pipes were at least two and possibly three rows high separated by heavy wooden spacers shaped to hold the pipes apart both vertically and horizontally
The pipes were for the Natural Gas project, were about 2 feet in diameter heavily painted with black tar. And the ends had a yellow cover I seem to remember? We would take up to 10 loads a train perhaps twice a week..
Cheers

Hmmm that would be an interesting load to have, can't see why not doing that variation :) A little progress...

Still needs underfloor detail, deletion of hidden polys then mapping. Glad it works in game though (With Zec's nice script features, will have to add a tail disc as well, and maybe look into an ETM?)

Fairly easy to do actually...

Would work in place of a tail-disc. Unless you wanted them to also have a tail disc (not sure if this happened mind).

The ETM that was mainly used in the V/line days after vans is this type I think: (Ironically, check out the wagon :P)

Which marker it receives will have to depend on it's code/operator i.e. VR would be just a temporary disc coded VFTY whereas V/Line post-vans would be the ETM coded VFTF/X.

Was interesting how these were loaded too:

Rendered without a skylight, so that's how it should look in game :)
